Matigan is a Research Assistant at the Australian Human Microbiome Biobank (AHMB), holding a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Otago. Her background is primarily in antimicrobial resistance, with previous experience in high-throughput library screening and investigating the development of antimicrobial resistance and tolerance over time.
She joined the AHMB lab team in 2026, where she is responsible for preparing microbial isolates for distribution to researchers and industry partners. In this role, she ensures each strain is handled, documented and processed in accordance with the biobank’s quality management system and traceability requirements, supporting compliance with accreditation standards and enabling reliable downstream research and development.
